Sorry for the slightly inapropriate photo…but has anyboy else noticed that the mosquitoes, deer/black/horse flies and ticks are bad this year? I dunno about y’all in The States, but in Canada they f*cking suck.
Doesn’t help that I’m sunburned AND mosquito bitten…ugh.
Anyways my weekend….
So Jer, my brother; Trevor, and I kind of went on an impromptu trip to jer’s cottage to pick up his boat trailer so he could sand blast it and re-paint it. So we get to the cottage. After I proclaimed that I would be swimming in the lake. (I had made Jer go to the cottage convenience store so I could get a towel and a shirt, because I had no bathing suit, just a sundress.) I went in, in a tank top, bra, and underwear.
My brother suckered Jer into taking his boat out. Jer really never gets the chance to do so, so he enjoyed himself. OPP pulled us over on the lake, but no big deal, we weren’t drinking or anything.
Jer has a really nice sound system in the boat, and he also has one of the nicest boats on the entire lake…good feeling.
Anyways Jer anchored at a sand bar, and we went swimming. It was just great.
I saw a hugeee bass swim by my legs. Of course when I’m swimming with them, but never when we’re out fishing right?
I’ve got quite the redneck tan line, but hey so worth it!
My brother has some videos, but I actually didn’t have a camera on me…I know, weird. But I guess the best memories won’t always be photographed.
Needless to say went home in soaked underwear, hahahah.

I have a little story to tell about this weekends particular adventure, but that’s for tomorrow when i’m more awake.

So peaceful. Minus honking the horn on the atv before the sun completely set on us to keep bears away.

This winter better involve some ice fishing, because looking at this photo makes me want to fish.

See that brown cottage on right side? That’s where I grew up for most of my first 13 years, until my grandparents sold it. And the grey cottage and cabin on the other side is my great Aunts. I visit once every year or two to breathe back in some of my childhood. I’ve never taken anyone to that place except for Jeremy, and it was great sharing some fond memories with him.

Well…

Jer & I’s cottage weekend got canceled last weekend. Which was quite disappointing. But I’m hoping to at least go up for the evening/night/half day this weekend. The fall colours are perfect up there right now, and I really don’t want to miss out on some photo-ops.

Nothing better ruin this for me.

My handsome man doing some fishin’. We were unsuccessful to say the least, and ended up driving around and going on adventures instead. This was last weekend, and it was such a good time and now I can’t wait for this weekend.
Friday I work until 12:30 in the afternoon, then I’m heading to the fair to take photos of my mom and the rest of her friends in the gaited horse group, while they’re showing.
Saturday is my moms birthday party at the trailer, so Jer and I are going to head over with the atv (if my dad gets insurance put on it in time). I’m going to get a trail pass for the day, and we’re just gunna have some fun on my day off, and then have dinner at the trailer.
Then Sunday I work at 7:30 am, which is kinda blahhh. But whatever, I come home at 12:30 in the afternoon. So Jer and I might head to his cottage and get his atv, depending on if he goes while I’m at work or not.
Then Monday is my moms bday, and I have the day off, and I’ll be spending it with my family, and going out to dinner <3.
Good upcoming weekend I would say, hopefully everything stays as planned.

So I had a great weekend at the cottage, very short lived, but it was fun.
Jer and I went for an atv ride this morning, just the two of us which was nice. We stopped at this peak over top of one of the numerous lakes in northern Ontario, and we ended up on a little hike together.
Of course me being a worrier, kept questioning Jer on where we were going, and about snakes and poison ivy, etc and her just kept telling me no don’t worry just common!

We ended up climbing this giant mountainous hill, through leaves, and brush, and rock etc, to end up almost 300 feet or more above water level. The view was amazing.
Jer asked me if I liked it, and I just couldn’t stop smiling. It was the most perfect spot. Flat rock to sit on, with a perfect opening and view over top of the lake, which also had mountainous rock formations throughout the water, with trees, and beautiful swampy area, the light was perfect and glimmering off the water. It made me regret not bringing my camera, which is why I just have this photo of Jer fishing in another lake, from Saturday on here instead. But I guess some things are just meant to be stored in your memory.
But, it was gorgeous. Anyways Jer and I took time to just sit and enjoy the view, and well time to ourselves too. It was truly a perfect day. I enjoyed myself so much.

My picture Loving a Cowboy.
The original country lovin' blog.

A little about myself: I'm a Canadian country girl, born and raised. I grew up in a barn since the age of 8, and to this day I've never left my country ways. Currently, I live on a fair sized horse farm, off a dirt road in small town Ontario with my family. Photography is my thing, so there are quite a few pics on here that belong to me! I'm a 24 year old hopeless romantic, who loves the backwoods way of living. Just looking for my fairytale that's all!
